Persian Gulf in Treaty of 1820
The treaty of 1820 is considered the most important and also the first official treaty between the British government and the chiefs of the Arab tribes south of the Persian Gulf. Other treaties also were concluded between the British government and the chiefs of the Arab tribes of the south Persian Gulf during the 19th century, and all the documents and records related to these treaties are available in the archives of the Persian Gulf Studies Center. All of these treaties are written in both English and Arabic languages and without exception in all of them the name of the Persian Gulf appears in both English and Arabic texts and for this reason they are considered very important documents. The rulers of the Arab countries in the south of the Persian Gulf should not forget that their great grandfathers signed all these papers, which are considered official documents.
